At ProspHire, we partner with Health Plans and Health Systems to offer insights, analysis and execution strategies to improve Maternal Health outcomes through social determinant of health and health equity focused solutions. Using evidence-based improvement strategies and population health analyses, ProspHire can evaluate and drive change in maternity outcomes.

As you may know, among developed countries, the United States has the highest maternal mortality rate1. The variation in this rate, however, is dramatically different when assessed by race and ethnicity. Variation also exists regionally. Both claims and publicly available data can help your organization prioritize and strategize to improve maternal outcomes.

Let’s take a look at ProspHire’s home state of Pennsylvania:

Non-Hispanic Black Women compared to White Women (PA)

Consider the data above where we see low rates of prenatal care among Non-Hispanic Black Women. Taking this data a step further, Philadelphia County experiences the highest rates of low-birth-weight incidence in the state. These metrics can drive additional analyses to understand potential interventions and community needs for the Philadelphia region.

Driving change can take different shapes and forms. To drive change in the right direction, consider your population of focus. This ensures that interventions cater to those in need, when in need.

At ProspHire we utilize a four-pronged approach:
